Elizabeth Robins-Edelson

M.S., D.T.R.,

Early Dance

As a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she studied at such well renowned studios as Alvin Ailey American Dance Centre, Joffrey Ballet School, Laban Institute of Movement Studies and Broadway Dance Center. As well a Masters Degree from Hunter College, N.Y. in Dance/Movement Therapy. For more than 15 years, Elizabeth helped people with mental and physical disabilities in hospital settings. In 1991 she founded the "E-Motion" dance classes for children with physical handicaps in Atlanta, GA. She has choreographed for numerous dance companies and musical theatre productions in New York, Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa.

Local

Locally, Elizabeth has taught dance at Centerstage Dance Studio, Florida Arts School and Hillsborough Community College where she was commissioned (in 2000) to create the current A.A. Dance Degree program. Elizabeth has worked for VSA arts of Florida and as an affiliate of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County promoted inclusion, awareness of diversity and the arts.

MAD Theatre of Tampa Inc.

Elizabeth founded M.A.D. Theatre of Tampa in 1999. She continues to serve on the board and coordinates the At-Your-School Enrichment Programs.
